Hailing from the island of Barbados, Casey Cardeo (born Kerry Belgrave) became an avid fan of music by the age of 6. His parents, at the time, introduced him to the artists such as Kirk Franklin and Ron Kenoly making worship music a popular favorite of his. Over time, greater appreciation for Reggae/Dancehall, Soca and Zouk developed and soon after various European based trends such as House/Garage Dance music were also added to the mix.
By age 15 he was playing on the worship team, and shortly after began learning the art of beat making. The latter grew into his passion and by his early 20s he was building relationships with several Barbadian Producers, namely Fabian “Minim” Worrell, KB Sharp, Eliseus Joseph and Peter Coppin of Monstapiece Entertainment. In 2006 he released his first Gospel/Dancehall single “Devil Haffi Run” with his friend/bandmate JewelOmar. The success of this song led him and his band to perform at major Christian events around the island. The result of this was however ironic as it temporarily shifted Casey’s attention from producing and performance and more towards his instrument. For the next few years he found himself in several bands playing for various artists such as Roger Samuels (UK), Russel Leonce (Trinidad), and Larix & Nicovia (Barbados) just to name a few.
In 2013, he moved to the United States and lived in the Midwest. The cultural differences created an opportunity for Casey to find new inspiration for his music and in 2018 he released a collaborative single “Wait On You”, featuring his friend and Idaho based Country singer EllieMae.
