Keeso sees light after a shot in the dark

I recently sat down with Keeso, 1/3 of the Yahweh Collective trio to talk about an incident that had recently happened to him, his story initially had me paralyzed with shock, and then captivated with the powerful message of what the power of peace did for him, what it can do for you.

January 18th 2019, Houston. Kesso was working in a hotel security overnight when suddenly he heard gun shots nearby, he responded promptly by calling the police and proceeded to investigate the property, after all, he had concerned guests and staff to keep safe.

It didn’t take long for him to find the suspect, and that the perpetrators gun was aimed directly at him. At 11:20 pm Keeso was shot in the pelvic bone. While he was waiting treatment he was clinically dead for several mins, they revived him and was rushed into emergency surgery.

He recollects the feeling that he was slipping whilst loosing a lot of blood, he called his pregnant wife “Honey, im shot, but i’ve got pressure on the wound and Im ok”. Soon after his heartbeat stopped. Keeso distinctly recalls “a peaceful moment of bliss” but then a profound audible voice told him “You have a lot to live for”. That statement made Keeso question what he heard “I have a lot to live for?” several times, he kept saying it until he was revived and found himself in ICU.

As Keeso explained his encounter with God, I remember my dry mouth, it must have stayed open for about 40 mins straight as he talked about the incident, the slip, the loss of blood, the stopping heart beat, the revival and the profound statement. We concluded that this define encounter is best explained by Philippians 4:6-7 A peace which surpasses all understanding!

It made me think, I don’t even remember ending that call. I was mesmerized, caught in the story, trapped in my thoughts.

I started singing the hook to their latest release “You Say, You Are”. Thats Keeso in the intro…

Whatever you are doing right now…stop. This blog is practically finished anyway. Think as I did…

Lets say, you turn around and then [BANG] someone shoots you. As you slip, ask yourself this…

Who would you call?

What do you think God would say to you?

Would you be at peace right now?

Now marinate on this…

Job 22:21
Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee

Isaiah 26:3
The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You.

Ephesians 3:19
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.

You Say, an album by Yahweh Collective on Spotify

Essentially, we all need peace, but a peace that surpasses all understand comes in a form of a supernatural one. You need to make that prayer.

Philippians 4:6  (NIV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Keeso’s supernatural peace lead to a quick recovery, this is a video of him walking a couple of weeks ago…

Next week we will share Keeso’s first performance on stage with Yahweh Collective. Subscribe for future emails from Yahweh Collective.
